"Easy Living" is a story about my typical type of experience as a California kid. Jampacking with your friends in one of their four seater cars, cruising past a coastline view. I wanted it to paint a perfect picture of a California afternoon. One that feels like summer but could very well be December because every day is around 75 degree sunshine. Especially in LA. Where Im from in the bay, its a big deal which area you’re from there. We are all proud of our area codes and each of our cities. It is drastically different from northern to southern califnira and even in each individual area there is a collective pride that Californians have with each other. Especially people from the Bay Area.
Infectious guitar soothes as pop meets groovy jazz r&b, opening the album with warm tones and west coast visuals. The sounds capture nostalgic influences mixed with modern melodies and stories. A rainbow of sounds capture the feeling of cruising coastlines at sunset and turning up your favorite song on the radio. It sets an overall tone for the project as a healing, comforting album of visuals and storytelling. I wrote this song with R&B/soul artist and songwriter Rozee.
“The weather makes you never wanna go home
Prettier than any place you've ever known”
lyrics
Cali sunshine, we're slow riding
That easy living, easy living
Cruise down to Venice, or Santa Monica
Hit the Palisades, roll another up
Drop the top down, another hot one
Jimi's got a pool, time to summer up
Full flavor, yeah, the north side
West coastin' from the 415
Faded, dripping sunlight
Medicated, set the mood right
The weather makes you never wanna go home
Prettier than any place you've ever known
Yeah, the weather makes you never wanna go home
Prettier than any place you've ever known
Cali sunshine, we're slow riding
That easy living, easy living, living, oh
Cali coastline, in the low rider
That easy living, easy living, living, oh
Cali sunshine, we're slow riding
That easy living, easy living
Head to Echo Park, me and all my friends
Mickey's shotgun, roll another one
Yeah, we're living baby, people everywhere
Drinks flowing, might spend the night here
Yeah, they love it on the Westside
From the Bay, uh, to the 305
Out in LA, ain't nothing like it
I'ma drink some more, probably do some damage
The weather makes you never wanna go home
Prettier than any place you've ever known
Yeah, the weather makes you never wanna go home
Prettier than any place you've ever known
Cali sunshine, we're slow riding
That easy living, easy living, living, oh
Cali coastline, in the low rider
That easy living, easy living, living, oh
Cali sunshine, we're slow riding
That easy living, easy living, living, oh
Cali coastline, in the low rider
That easy living, easy living, living, oh
